Zeenat Aman reveals why Jaipur made her day off unforgettable: ‘Not having to make it productive’
Mumbai/IBNS: Veteran actress Zeenat Aman has shared a glimpse of her day off in Jaipur, reflecting on how her approach to travelling has evolved over the years.
In an Instagram post, the actress described her experience of exploring the city's traditional markets and enjoying high tea at the luxurious Rambagh Palace.
Aman said she spent her day shopping for silver jewellery and saris in the bustling lanes of the old city before heading to the palace for a leisurely afternoon.
From bustling bazaars to royal elegance
Describing Johri Bazaar as a “sensory adventure”, Aman highlighted the vibrant colours, crowded lanes, lively conversations and energetic shopkeepers that make the traditional market experience distinctive.
She contrasted the lively atmosphere of the old city's markets with the elegance of Rambagh Palace, where she enjoyed tea and sweets amid fountains, manicured gardens, flowers and peacocks.
The actress also recounted getting her palm read by a palmist, who, she said, humoured her about her personal circumstances.
‘Not having to make it productive’
Reflecting on her travel philosophy, Aman said she has become less interested in ticking off destinations and attractions from a checklist.
Instead, she prefers wandering through markets, finding thoughtful gifts for loved ones, enjoying good food, sitting in the sunshine and appreciating historic architecture without rushing through the day.
“Perhaps that is the luxury of an off day. Not having to make it productive. Just making it memorable,” she wrote.
Concluding her post, Aman said Jaipur had made her day memorable and asked her followers whether there was a place that made them feel the same way.
