White tiger Subhranshu dies in Nandankanan Zoo

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15 (UNI)  White tiger Subhranshu, suffering from blood protozoan disease, died in Nandankanan  Zoo today.

Zoo Deputy Director  Jayanta  Das said the tiger was under intensive care treatment of Zoo Veterinarians for last one month. The tiger died today at about  1015 hours.

Mr.Das  said the post mortem will be conducted today to ascertain the exact cause of the death.

Subhranshu was born on July 28, 2014, from normal coloured tiger Manish and white tigress Sneha.

With the death of  Subhranshu, the tiger population in the  Zoo has reduced to  25 tigers,12 of male and 13 female, Mr.Das said.
