Sniffer dogs to screen Covid-infected people at Islamabad Airport

| @indiablooms | May 15, 2021, at 01:01 pm

Authorities in Pakistan have decided to deploy trained sniffer dogs at Islamabad International Airport to detected people infected with Covid-19 coming from abroad, reported Dawn.

Sniffer dogs can be used as a secondary screening tool for detecting Covid-19 infection, a senior airport official was quoted as saying by the government.

Currently, thermal scanners and Rapid Antigen tests are being conducted to detect the infected travelers at the airport to contain the Covid-19 pandemic. The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has allowed airlines to operate 30pc of their flights for travelers.

Cases in Pakistan have come down now as the government has imposed several strict restrictions, curbing the movement of people across the country. The country has now been reporting around 3000 daily cases.
