SAKSHAM 2021 focuses on green and clean energy for its annual awareness campaign

Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar inaugurated the annual Sanrakshan Kshamata Mahotshov (SAKSHAM), a public awareness campaign about the importance of oil and gas conservation.

The tagline of SAKSHAM-2021 is ‘Green Energy and Clean Energy’.

The Governor inaugurated the programme virtually in the presence of Pritish Bharat, State Level Coordinator, West Bengal and Executive Director, WBSO of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, and senior officials from HPCL, BPCL and GAIL and Indian Oil and dealers of oil companies.

The campaign is organised by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas along with oil companies and the PCRA.

Governor Dhankhar highlighted the issue of conservation of petroleum products and also offered various conservation tips.

Pritish Bharat shared the message from Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan and emphasised on the efficient usage of valuable petroleum products.

On January 31, 2021, a Cyclothon Day will be celebrated across the country.

The month-long pan India campaign will conclude on February 15, 2021.

The consumption of petroleum products in the financial year 2019-20 was about 214.13 MMT.
