Over 1.05 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses still available with states: Health Ministry

New Delhi/UNI: More than 1.05 crore (1,05,61,861) anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and Union Territories, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday.

Over 47,43,580 more will be received by them within the next three days, it added.

So far, the Centre has provided 26.69 crore (26,69,14,930 doses to the states. Of this, the total consumption, including wastages, is 25,67,21,069 doses, as per data available this morning.

"As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In addition, the Govt. of India has also been facilitating direct procurement of vaccines by the States/UTs. Vaccination is an integral pillar of the comprehensive strategy of the Government of India for containment and management of the pandemic, along with Test, Track, Treat and COVID Appropriate Behaviour," the Ministry said.

Meanwhile, the country has recorded 60,471 new cases of coronavirus infections and 2,726 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry's data.
