Kolkata: Hridaya 2017 raises funds to support treatment of underprivileged children
The cultural extravaganza, which attracted many of the city's leading names from performing arts, was aimed at raising funds for the treatment of underprivileged children with cardiac ailments.
The money generated from the charity function will be spent towards the operation of 35 children, the organisers said.
The service will be provided in association with Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences (unit of Narayan Health).
Besides members of the Rotary Club of Calcutta Old City, the Tollywood fraternity too attended the fund raiser.
Rimjhim Mitra, Sandipta Sen, Debolina Dutta Mukherjee were some of the popular faces seen in the crowd.
Noted singers from the city, including Haimanti Shukla, Anindya Chatterjee, Rupankar, Imon and Jojo, regaled the audience with their soulful renditions.
The cultural event saw a variety of dance performances, ranging from classical to folk, from North Indian Kathak to South Indian Kathakali.
Choreographed by Sudarshan Chakravorty, members of Sapphire dance troupe presented a colourful medley of regional dances.
