Kolkata/IBNS: Kolkata based new multi-specialty healthcare provider, Narayan Memorial Hospital, has launched an oxygen plant in its premises to ensure smooth supply to its patients as the city grapples with oxygen shortage.

The 600 liter per minute capacity Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Generation Plant - equivalent to filling 126 pieces of 47 liter bulk oxygen cylinders every 24 hours has required an investment of Rs. 2.1 crore.

Situated in Kolkata’s southern neighborhood, this 200 bed multispecialty tertiary care hospital largely provides healthcare services to people of Behala and the surrounding hinterlands of South 24 Parganas.

Suparna Sengupta, CEO, Narayan Memorial Hospital said, “Witnessing the sudden demand in medical oxygen supply in the city, we instantly came up with the idea of establishing the plant ourselves. It happened at a superfast pace with the help of Linde India Limited.”

Manoj Shaw, Chairman, Narayan Memorial Hospital said, “We are the first hospital in South 24 Parganas to adopt the fastest and most convenient mode of oxygen generation process.”
