Kerala reports 42,154 new Covid cases, 10 deaths in single day

Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: Kerala recorded 42,154 fresh Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths in the last 24 hours, the health department said on Monday.

"Meanwhile, 81 recent deaths lacking proper records have been added today. About 638 deaths were also added to the list based on appeals seeking its inclusion in the list taking the death toll in the state to 54,395," the release said.

About 38,458 people have recovered from the disease Monday.

As many as 3,57,552 people, who already tested positive, are undergoing treatment in the state while 56,12,993 people have recovered from the infection so far.

Currently, 5,37,909 people are under observation in the state -- 5,25,238 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 12,637 in hospitals.

Around 1,340 people infected with the virus were admitted to hospitals Monday.
