Sriharikota/IBNS: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched the 100th rocket launch from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh successfully, media reports said.

The ISRO has placed a second generation navigation satellite in orbit.

The space agency has used a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) in the launch.

The GSLV-F15 with indigenous Cryogenic stage placed NVS-02 satellite into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit.

GSLV F15 lifted-off from the second launch pad at 06:23 am on January 29 carrying the NVS-02 navigation satellite.

Over a span of 99 launches, various missions have been carried out from Sriharikota.

ISRO chairman V Narayanan said as quoted by NDTV, "The satellite precisely injected into the required (GTO) orbit. This mission is the 100th launch which is a very significant milestone."

"In this mission, the data has come; all vehicle systems are normal," he added.
