The Indo-British Scholars Association (IBSA), organised a philanthropic event titled  “Celebrating Life with Cancer Survivors”  to honour the resilience of cancer patients undergoing treatment at Tata Medical Center (TMC).

The event was hosted at Premashraya, a residential facility providing a “home away from home” for patients and their families.

The initiative was conceived by IBSA members- Dr Rizwan Javed and Ms Aakriti Jhunjhunwala, and brought joy and togetherness to the residents of Premashraya, who are bravely fighting cancer.

Indo British Scholars’ Assocation www.ibsa.in —a UK alumni association that serves as a networking platform for scholars and professionals from a wide variety of disciplines.

IBSA presented the donation cheque of  Rs 1 lakh to Sanjeev Agarwal, Director Finance-TMC and Mrs Sudeshna Dutt, Head of Operations-Premashraya to support cancer care, reinforcing its commitment to paying it forward and engaging its members in meaningful causes.

The celebration featured a magic show for 50 child patients, later enjoyed by singing and dancing.

The fun-filled afternoon was a perfect blend of excitement and wonder, with children enthusiastically participated in the magic show and gleefully chanting ”Gili, Gili Abra Ka Dabra!”.

Each child received a gift bag with a toy, coloring book, stationery kits, chocolates, and biscuits, generously donated by various supporters.

The event concluded with lunch for 160+ patients, including both children and adults, sponsored by Mukund Agarwal and Aman Agarwal.

Reetasri Ghosh, Vice President of IBSA, shared:“At IBSA, we strive to reach out and engage with the community and make even a small difference in our own way. This event was a tribute to the incredible strength of these young survivors. We were delighted to join them for a day filled with music, dance and magic and see the smile on their faces.”
