India witnesses slight fall in Covid cases

New Delhi/UNI: India on Saturday registered a slight decline of 31,091 Corona cases in the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said.

The country recorded 3,26,098 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, against yesterday's 3.43 lakh new COVID-19 cases.

With this, the country's active caseload stands at 36,73,802. It now comprises 15.07 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

Ten states reported 74.85 per cent of the new cases in last 24 hours.

Karnataka has reported the highest daily new cases at 41,779, followed by Maharashtra 39,923 and Kerala 34,694.

The National Mortality Rate currently stands at 1.09 per cent with 3,890 deaths being reported in the same period.

With 3,53,299 people recovering from the contagion, total number of recoveries have spiked to 2,04,32,898 at 83.83 per cent.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has exceeded 18 crore, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday.As per as per the provisional report this morning, a total of 18,04,57,579 vaccine doses have been administered through 26,02,435 sessions.
