India reports 34,403 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

New Delhi/IBNS: India reported 34,403 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated Friday.

The active cases now stand for 1.02% of the total cases.

In 24 hours between Thursday and Friday mornings, 37,950 COVID-19 patients have recovered.

The recovery rate now stands at 97.65%.

Out of 34,403 new infections reported Friday morning, more than half have been added by the southern state of Kerala, a popular tourist destination.

In the last 24 hours, Kerala, which was praised over its handling of COVID-19 first wave, has added 22,182 cases.
