India reports 25,072 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours, lowest in 160 days

New Delhi/IBNS: In the lowest tally of daily infections in 160 days, India reported 25,072 COVID-19 cases Monday, as per the data released by the Union Health Ministry.

The new figure is around 5,000 lower than what was reported Sunday morning.

In the last 24 hours, 389 deaths apparently due to the virus have been reported.

The recovery rate further went up to 97.63%, the highest since March 2020, with 44,157 patients recovering in the last one day.

The active cases now account for 1.03% of the total number of cases, the lowest since March 2020.

Kerala, the south Indian state, Sunday added 10,402 new infections days after logging around 20,000-30,000 daily cases.

The government in Goa, a favourite destination of the tourists, Sunday extended the coronavirus-induced curfew till Aug 30.

The Health Ministry stated 58.25 crore anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses have so far been administered in the country of 1.3 billion people.
