India records 20,044 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India registered 20,044 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours as the daily positivity rate touched 4.80 percent, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Saturday.

During the same period, 56 people died due to the viral infection.

India is suddenly witnessing a spike in daily count in recent months.

India's active caseload currently stands at 1,40,760

Active cases stand at 0.32 percent.

Recovery Rate currently at 98.48 percent.

18,301 people recovered from the disease in recent times.
