India adds 42,909 new COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

New Delhi: India recorded 42,909 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as per data released by the Ministry of Health on Monday.

During the same period, 380 people died due to the virus, taking the total death toll to 438210.

Active cases account for 1.15% of total cases.

India's Active caseload stands at 3,76,324.

Recovery Rate currently stands at 97.51%.

34,763 recoveries registered in the last 24 hours.

Total Recoveries stands at 3,19,23,405.

India witnessed a deadly second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic where people struggled for hospital beds and even oxygen supply.

The surge in deaths also left crematoriums and burial grounds overwhelmed.
