Hoshiarpur: 31 BSF jawans among 34 found COVID-19 positive

Hoshiarpur/UNI: The Hoshiarpur district reported sudden spike Friday with 34 patients including 31 BSF Jawans testing positive for the novel coronavirus.

This sudden spike is reported after pilgrims from Takht Shree Hazur Sahib, Nanded (Maharashtra) returned and were found positive here at the beginning of May this year.

In a statement here Friday, senior doctor stated that 31 BSF Jawans of Subsidiary Training Centre BSF, Kharkan, one each from PHC Possi, Paldi and Mand Mandher were found infected with novel Covid-19.

With the detection of 34 new cases, the district tally of confirmed coronavirus positive cases mounted to 253 including seven fatalities, he added.
