Shimla/UNI: Sanjeev Chauhan, a gardener in Shimla district, has grown red coloured apricot (Red Bolero Apricot), which is a Spanish variety, in his garden.

Apricots can also be eaten dried and its kernels are also sweet.

The people of the country will now be able to taste not only yellow but also red apricots, the gardener said.

A gardener from Bakhol village of Kotkhai in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh has grown red colored apricot Red Bolero, which is a Spanish variety, in his garden.

Its size is larger than that of the common apricot and its fresh shelf life is also ten days more than that.

The anti-aging property of Red Apricot Red Bolero is helpful in removing wrinkles from the face and is helpful in preventing premature ageing.

The phenolic acid found in it prevents cancer cells from growing. That is, this variety is helpful in fighting cancer.

In addition to iron, potassium and magnesium, antioxidants, vitamin carotene, vitamins C and E are also found in it.

Gardener Sanjeev Chauhan told UNI that in the year 2020, he had imported Red Bolero and Rubil varieties of apricot plants from Italy.

After two years of planting, it has started bearing fruit. It will take about ten more days for the Red Bolero to be fully ready.

Due to the large size, its demand will be more in the market.

Due to the longer life of its freshness, its transportation will be easier.

Its outer skin is dark red in color.

Apricot is completely organic, as there is no spray in it. Apricots can also be eaten dried and its kernels are also sweet.
