Cyclone Titli hits Odisha coast

Bhubaneswar, Oct 11 (IBNS): Cyclone Titli has made a landfall close to Gopalpur area in Odisha on Thursday, Indian weather officials said.

The landfall started early on Thursday morning.

The Odisha government reportedly evacuated more than 300,000 people from five coastal districts of the state.

School and colleges in the cyclone-hit area have remained closed.

According to reports, several trees and electric poles in the area has been uprooted in the area.

Heavy rains and strong winds have hit several areas in the state like Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khurda and Jagatsinghpur.

Train and flight services have been hit badly in the state.
