COVID-19: West Bengal's active cases cross 1 lakh mark after another record surge

Kolkata/IBNS: With 16,403 fresh infections reported in the past 24 hours, the number of active Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has mounted to 1,00,615, officials said on Tuesday.

In the last 24 hours, the state recorded 73 Covid-related deaths and 10,664 discharges.

According to a bulletin issued by the state health department, Bengal's Covid tally has reached 7,76,345, including 1,00,615 active cases, 11,082 deaths and 6,64,648 recoveries.

West Bengal has tested 1,02,70,645 samples till date with 55,287 tests being conducted in the last 24 hours in 112 testing facilities across the state.

Meanwhile, amid several complaints of Covid patients' deaths due to lack of oxygen supply in few health facilities in the state, the Bengal government on Tuesday claimed that there was sufficient oxygen supply in the state as of now.
