Covid-19 outbreak: West Bengal reports 29 fresh cases, 3 more deaths

Kolkata/IBNS: With 29 new confirmed Covid-19 cases, the number of active Covid-19 positive cases in West Bengal has reached 274 while state's death toll from the novel coronavirus pandemic has mounted to 15, officials said on Tuesday.

"As the expert committee confirmed three more deaths which were directly caused by Covid-19, novel coronavirus death count in the state has climbed to 15," Bengal Chief Secretary Rajiva Sinha said.

"With 713 samples were tested in last 24 hours, West Bengal has tested 6182 samples so far," Rajiva Sinha said.

"Currently, 5016 people are kept in institutional quarantine while 33305 persons are under home surveillance in the state," Sinha added.

West Bengal has discharged 73 Covid-19 patients after treatment so far.
