New Delhi: India's micron tally touched 415, as per data released by the Ministry of Health.

So far, 115 people have recovered from the disease.

Maharashtra tops the chart with 108 patients.

Delhi registered 79 patients.

The central government is set to rush its teams to 10 states which are either reporting high cases of COVID-19 variant 'Omicron' or the vaccination is poor, media reports said.

The states include Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Mizoram, Karnataka, Bihar, Jharkhand and Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

In five days, the central teams will work with the respective state health authorities on improving COVID-19 testing and surveillance.

The teams will also overview the genome sequencing of samples to identify the 'Omicron' variant, which is rising across the country.

The step has been taken days after the Allahabad High Court requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to call off political rallies and postpone assembly elections due to be held in a number of states early next year.
