New Delhi/IBNS: The death toll due to COVID-19 in India touched 519 on Sunday, as per data released by the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases in the country now touched the 16,000-mark.

The data included 13295 active cases.

2301 people have recovered in the country so far.

Urging people to maintain brotherhood, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the COVID-19 disease does not see 'race, religion, colour, caste, creed, language or border' and strikes people equally.

"COVID-19 does not see race, religion, colour, caste, creed, language or border before striking," Modi wrote in his LinkedIn post.

"Our response and conduct thereafter should attach primacy to unity and brotherhood," he said.

He said the future of the world will be about 'togetherness'.
