COVID-19 cases in West Bengal near 9000-mark, death count reaches 415

Kolkata/IBNS: With 372 new cases of novel coronavirus reported in last 24 hours, the total tally in West Bengal has reached 8985, including 4950 active cases, 415 deaths and 3620 discharges, reports said on Tuesday.

According to a bulletin issued by Bengal health and family welfare department, 10 fatalities and 155 discharges were reported in the state in the past 24 hours.

The bulletin also stated that the recovery rate in West Bengal stood at 40.28 per cent.

West Bengal health department said that the state had tested 2,87,900 samples till date with 7802 tests being conducted in the day, which is the lowest in recent times.

Presently, 22106 persons are kept in government quarantine centres and 1,56,943 people are under home surveillance in the state, reports said.
