Assam's Covid-19 tally surges to 7,492 with 327 new cases, toll rises to 11

Guwahati/IBNS: With 327 new positive cases for Covid-19, Assam's tally for the deadly virus has surged to 7,492.

Out of the new cases, 195 cases have been reported from the city of Guwahati.

On the other hand, one Covid-19 patient died at a government run hospital in Guwahati on Friday.

The death toll has now increased to 11.

44 police personnel including one Superintendent of Police (SP) level officer were also tested positive for the new virus in the state.

Additional Director of Police (ADGP) GP Singh said that 1,127 police personnel in the state are now under quarantine.

Assam has now 2,390 active cases for Covid-19.

Assam has so far tested 3,85,299 samples for the new virus at 12 laboratories across the state.
