Assam stands 7th in Covid-19 active cases across country: Health Ministry

Guwahati/UNI: With more than 29,000 active cases, Assam has been placed at number seven by the Union Health Ministry in the list of Covid-19 active cases in the country.

Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Assam, Odisha and Chattisgarh are in the same group which accounts for 25.2 per cent of Covid-19 cases in the country.

According to the statistics, Maharastra is leading the list of states with 2,43,809 active cases, followed by 96,937 in Karnataka and 96,769 in Andhra Pradesh.

The total number of active cases in the country stands at 8,97,394 as on date.

A total of 1,115 deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours.

The total number of recoveries has touched 33,98,844 taking the recovery rate to 77.77%.

More than 11.5 lakh COVID samples have been tested in the last 24 hours taking India’s cumulative tests to 5.18 crore.
