Assam reports 230 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours, state tally surges to 2473

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam has registere​d 230 new positive cases for COVID-19 in last 24 hours, taking the state tally to 2473.

Out of the new cases, 50 cases were reported from Hojai district while 44 from Dhubri, 22 from Darrang, 15 from Dhemaji, 12 each from Kamrup (Metro), Barpeta, Dima Hasao, 8 each from Dibrugarh, Airport, Nagaon, six from Goalpara, five each from Sonitpur, Hailakandi, Kamrup, Biswanath, four each from Golaghat, West Karbi Anglong, three from Karbi Anglong, two each from Bongaigaon, Cachar, Tinsukia, one each from Karimganj, Morigaon, Charaideo, Sivasagar, Lakhimpur districts.

Assam Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, in 24 hours, the state has reported 230 fresh COVID-19 positive cases.

He tweeted – “76 new #COVID19+ cases. 23 Dhubri, 22 Darrang,12 Kamrup Metro, 7 Dibrugarh, 5 Barpeta, 3 Dhemaji, 2 Sonitpur, 2 Bongaigaon. Total cases 2473.”

According to the Assam government data, the state has registered 912 cases in the last four days.

That is about 37 percent of the total cases have been detected in the state in last four days.

On the other hand, 588 patients have been discharged from hospitals and the state has now 1878 active cases for the new virus.
