After 49 new cases, Covid tally reaches 4925 in Manipur
Imphal, Aug 20 (UNI) Manipur reported 49 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, out of which 40 are from the general population while nine are from the Central Security Personnel. The overall Covid-19 tally now stands at 4925.
After the new infections, the number of active cases stood at 1905, including 1030 from the general population and 875 from Central Security Personnel.
The total number of discharged cases is 3002, of which the general population accounted for 2592 cases and Central Security Personnel- 410 cases.
The recovery rate is 60.95 per cent.
Among the fresh cases, 25 are male while 15 are female.
The positive cases were from VRDL, RIMS - 2; JNIMS - 8; JNIMS RAT - 1; Imphal West RAT - 8; Bishnupur RAT — 2; Ukhrul RAT — 1; Thoubal RAT - 3; Babina Diagnostics - 24. They were from Imphal West - 19; Imphal East - 6; Bishnupur - 4; Chandel — 1; Ukhrul — 2; Senapati — 1; Thoubal — 7. All the 40 persons of the general population were locals without any significant travel history. They were being shifted to the Covid Care facilities.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
So far 18 people have succumbed to the sickness in Manipur but there is no official report of any death due to Covid -19 today from any part of the State.
In the past twenty-four hours, 117 patients were discharged from different Covid care hospitals across the state.
Seventy CAPF patients were discharged while 47 patients were released from Covid Care Centres after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.
