4.5 magnitude earthquake hits Nicobar Islands

Port Blair, Apr 6 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter Scale hit Nicobar Islands Region in India on Saturday, officials said.

The quake hit the area around 13:42 IST.

The epicentre of the quake was located at latitude 7.4 degrees north latitude and 94.3 degrees east longitude.

It was located at a depth of 10 kms.

No casualty has been reported so far.
