World Travel Awards 2014 names AirAsia as 'Asia's Leading Low Cost Airline'

New Delhi, Oct 11 (IBNS) AirAsia has once again claimed the title 'Asia's Leading Low Cost Airline’ at the prestigious World Travel Awards (Asia & Australasia) Gala 2014, which was held in New Delhi on Friday. This is the third consecutive year for AirAsia to be awarded this coveted title.

The AirAsia Group was represented by Mittu Chandilya, CEO of AirAsia India, who received the award at the gala.

AirAsia India CEO, Mittu Chandilya said: "It is a proud moment for us to be recognised on this prestigious platform. AirAsia is known to be a market leader and innovator providing great customer experience. We will continue to deliver quality service to our guests."

AirAsia emerged as winner in the ‘Asia’s Leading Low Cost Airline’ category, receiving the highest votes from travel professionals and industry players from around the region, surpassing other nominees in the category, namely  Air India Express, Firefly, Go Air, JetKonnect, Jetstar Airways and Nok Air.

The airline is also nominated in the World's Leading Low-Cost Airline category for the second consecutive year at the upcoming World Travel Awards 2014 to be held in November 2014.

AirAsia was also named Asia’s Best and World’s Best Low Cost Airline by Skytrax for six consecutive years from 2009 – 2014.
