Union Budget: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman participates in Halwa Ceremony

New Delhi, June 22 (IBNS): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday participated in the Halwa Ceremony in North Block of New Delhi to mark the beginning of printing of Budget related documents.  

She will present the budget on July 5.

This is the first budget that will be presented by Sitharaman.

She had served as the Defence Minister of the nation in the first term of the PM Narendra Modi-led Centre.

PIB tweeted: " #GeneralBudget2019 The Union Finance Minister, Smt. @nsitharaman participated in the Halwa Ceremony held today in North Block, New Delhi to mark the beginning of printing of Budget related documents. MOS(F&CA) Shri @ianuragthakur also participated among others.@nsitharamanoffc."
