The First Gateway of India Dialogue: Where geopolitics meets business

New Delhi, Jun 13 (IBNS): The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Monday that it is co-hosting the two-day First Gateway of India Dialogue with Gateway House in Mumbai.

The event is taking place on June 13 and 14, 2016.  

This international geo-economic conference, set in India’s unique context, seeks to promote a global dialogue on the alignment of economic and strategic objectives, said the MEA. 

The MEA also said that being hosted in the commercial nerve centre of India, Mumbai, it will also highlight the role of economic diplomacy and corporate engagement in promoting India’s strategic and commercial interests.

Focusing on the theme of 'Where Geopolitics Meets Business,' the Dialogue will have more than 100 participants from around 20 countries. 

The inaugural session on 13 June, 2016, will have keynote addresses by Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar and Deputy Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka, Harsha De Silva. 

The closing session on 14 June, 2016 will be addressed by Minister of State for External Affairs, Gen. (Dr.) V. K. Singh ( Retd).
