New Delhi/Indore/Jaipur, July 11 (IBNS): Teleperformance, the US$3.67 billion global outsourced customer experience management firm, has announced that its India operations have been named the Best Employer in the BPO industry in the 'Great Place To Work 2015' study.
The Best BPO Employer in India 2015 honour was awarded to Teleperformance India MD  Sanjay Mehta and Senior VP Talent Excellence Amandeep Arora by Advisor to PM national council on skill development S Ramadorai at an event in Mumbai on Friday evening.

Great Place to Work Institute conducted this study for 2015 in which over 700 companies from 20 industry segments participated.

Teleperformance that began its India operations in Gurgaon nearly 15 years ago supports global clients in Telecom, Technology, Insurance and Consumer Goods verticals.

The firm has established several initiatives for engaging with its employees, referred to as Teleperformers, ranging from extensive training of over 6 weeks a year, ample growth opportunities for its team as also Citizens of the World program.

Teleperformance India’s path-breaking move of setting up operations in non-metro cities like Jaipur and Indore was driven by its desire to offer jobs to youth closer to their home towns.

This strategic move besides marrying the sensitivity of minimising movement of talent away from home while providing them the comfort of less travel time to work gives customers the benefit of higher productivity.

This recognition validates Teleperformance India’s commitment to creating workplace excellence based on talent development practices and values of putting people ahead of everything else. Teleperformance leaders are now invited members of the ‘Best Employers Club’, a forum to share best practices in nurturing a great people culture.

Great Place to Work recognition is a collective output of the passion and commitment demonstrated by scores of teams of Teleperformers that is enjoying the rich work-culture as much as they are delighting their customers. The organization continues to raise performance, quality and employee-care benchmarks to help set leading standards for the outsourcing industry.

Sanjay Mehta, Managing Director, Teleperformance India, said, “We are humbled by this recognition. Our teams deserve credit for shaping our People strategy to maintain high standards of excellence at workplace."

“At Teleperformance, we extend the same customer experience to our people that we expect from them for our Customers and Clients. Motivated people drive innovation that allows Teleperformance to retain its leadership position,” added Mehta.

Companies nominated for Great Place to Work list go through a rigorous application process and are selected and ranked predominantly on the basis of employees’ response to the Great Place to Work Trust Index Survey.

It takes into account employees’ perception of the workplace; the scoring criteria also include Workplace Culture Assessment and Employees Comments.

“Since 2001, Teleperformance India has emerged as a leader with both global and domestic clients,” said Paulo César Salles Vasques, Worldwide Chief Executive Officer, Teleperformance Group. “Equally important, though, is our leadership as an employer. This recognition from Great Place to Work Institute speaks of our commitment to building an outstanding work environment for our team.”

In its 12th year, India’s Best Companies to Work for Study’s 2015 edition, the largest study in the country on workplace culture, attracted participation from over 700 organisations spanning over 20 industries. Over 180,000 employees were surveyed in all making this the largest and most comprehensive survey of workplace culture in corporate India.
