Tata Power bags 'Wind Farm Operator of the Year-Agaswadi Wind farm'

The award was presented by T N Thakur, former CMD - PTC India and Dilip Nigam, Director – MNRE. Paresh Sahasrabudhe, Head – Wind Operations received the award on behalf of Tata Power.

Tata Power has a robust portfolio of wind power comprising of 462.6 MW of installed Wind generating capacity making it one of the largest renewable players in India.

The wind farms of the Company are spread across five states viz. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka and Rajasthan which are the leading states in promoting wind power generation in India.

The company continues to pursue avenues to add ‘clean and renewable energy generation capacities to increase renewable energy portfolio. The Agaswadi wind farm in Maharashtra has an installed capacity of 49.50 MW.

Tata Power has four of its renewable energy projects registered under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) programme of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). These projects include the 50.4 MW Gadag project, the 50.4 MW Wind project at Khandke, and the 50.4 MW Wind project at Samana in Maharashtra. The fourth project is the 25 MW Solar project at Mithapur, Gujarat.

Instituted in 2011, the Wind IPP Summit 2014 is India’s premier wind energy event which presents an international platform for the wind energy industry to showcase and demonstrate its latest products and services.

Participating wind power companies such as IL&FS, Orange Renewable Power, Panama Wind, ReNew, Bharat Light and Power and WelSpun Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd. were judged based on the operational performance for the year 2013-14. Tata Power participated for the first time at the international platform which created an insightful dialogue on research, industry, policies and business of wind energy.
