Tata Group among top 20 knowledge enterprises in the world

Mumbai, Dec 8 (IBNS): The Tata Group has been ranked among top 20 enterprises in the world in the prestigious Global Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) 2016 study for maximizing enterprise intellectual capital.

To accelerate and democratise the creation and leveraging of knowledge capital in the Tata group, the Tata Business Excellence Group implements the Tata Best Practices Programme, as part of the Tata Business Excellence Model (TBEM), which was started in 1995.

This has led to the creation of formal structures to facilitate the exchange and implementation of best practices across Tata group companies.

The Tata Best Practices Programme prioritises and documents the best practice opportunities from the TBEM Assessments, for the company being assessed as well as for other companies.

"It ensures wide and convenient accessibility of the Group best practices to all Tata employees through a digital platform called EDGE. It provides intensive ‘face-to-face’ sessions that are theme-based or focused on a single company through Learning Missions, EDGE Wednesday Webinars and Workshops. Apart from benchmarking exercises, the Tata Best Practices Programme helps Tata companies access and utilize knowledge bases of renowned knowledge organizations like APQC & ASQ," a company statement said.

S. Padmanabhan, Executive Chairman, Tata Business Excellence Group said, “It is an honour for the Tata group to be a part of the 2016 Global MAKE Winners in the world. Over the years, the group has been committed towards creating and sustaining long term value for stakeholders, abiding the culture of excellence, adding value to the Tata brand and has harnessed the knowledge capital for many years now. Furthermore, Tata companies have always benchmarked themselves against leading global companies and strive for excellence in their respective sectors.”
