Stock market: Sensex steady at 60,156.45 points in opening trade

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex Tuesday was almost steady at 60,156.45, rising by 20 pts in the opening session following gains in Bankex, Utilities and Realty stocks.

While, the Nifty fell by nominal 1 point at 17,944.

The Sensex registered days' high and low at 60,263.61 and 59,991.59 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days' high and low at 17,995.75 and 17,906.80 pts.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.36 pc and Small Cap by 0.40 pc.

In 30 scrips, 17 advanced while 13 declined.

The gainers were Bajaj Auto by 3.14 pc to Rs 3972.85, Titan by 2.20 pc to Rs 2415.35, ITC by 2 pc to Rs 242.75, SBI by 1.49 pc to Rs 476.20 and Bajaj Finserv by 1.20 pc to Rs 17,922.80.

The losers were HCL Technology by 3.86 pc to Rs 1252, Infosys by 1.09 pc to Rs 1673.50, Tech Mahindra by 0.91 pc to Rs 1387.55 and ICICI Bank by 0.56 pc to Rs 709.10.
