Sensex rises over 50 pts, Nifty moves up 22.55 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Thursday rose 59 points to 53,085.99 due to buying witnessed in Telecom, Utilities, Oil and Gas and Power stocks.

The Nifty too moved up 22.55 points to 15,821.65.

The Sensex registered the days high and low at 53,377.54 and 52,897.16 points respectively.

The Nifty registered the day's high and low at 15,890 and 15,769.95 points respectively.

The Mid Cap fell 0.18 percent and Small by 0.15 percent.

The gainers were Axis Bank by 1.51 percent to Rs 635.25, SBI by 1.14 per cent to Rs 464.70, Maruti Suzuki by 0.98 per cent to Rs 8,590.90 and Powergrid by 0.71 per cent to Rs 213.05.

The losers were Tech Mahindra by 0.95 per cent to Rs 1,011.25, Bajaj Finserv by 0.92 per cent to Rs 11,102.20, Bajaj finance by 0.78 per cent to Rs 5,474.60 and M&M by 0.65 per cent to Rs 1,103.80.
