Sensex moves down by 551.54 points

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Monday dropped 551.54 points at 56,645.61 as selling was seen across the board.

The Nifty slipped 188.05 points at 16,983.90.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 56,760.66 and 56,412.14 points respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 17,022.65 and 16,928.60 points respectively.

The Mid fell 1.49 per cent and Small Cap by 1.31 per cent. In 30 scrips, 4 advanced while 26 declined.

The losers were Tata Steel by 2.99 per cent to Rs 1239.60, Hind Unilever by 2.78 per cent to Rs 2070.60, Tech Mahindra by 2.51 per cent to Rs 1274.25, Hind Unilever by 2.73 per cent to Rs 2071.50 and Wipro by 2.11 per cent to Rs 526.35.

The gainers were ICICI Bank by 1.09 per cent to Rs 755.50, Axis Bank by 0.48 per cent to Rs 784.10, Maruti Suzuki by 0.34 per cent to Rs 7930.05 and M& M by 0.21 per cent to Rs 922.25.
