SAIL-CMO observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2015

New Delhi, Nov 1 (IBNS): Offices of SAIL's Central Marketing Organisation (CMO) across the country concluded their observance of Vigilance Awareness Week-2015 on Saturday.
Besides participating in activities such as online quiz, slogan and paragraph competitions on this year’s theme – Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance – during the week, CMO employees throughout India took the Vigilance Pledge, administered by the heads of respective offices, on the inaugural day, 26th Oct. ’15.
 
Competitions for school children were also organized at CMO headquarters in Kolkata as well as in New Delhi and Chennai. 
 
In Kolkata, students of Apeejay School, Army Public School,   Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria, DPS Megacity, DPS New Town, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Laxmipat Singhania Academy and Modern High School for Girls participated enthusiastically in poster and essay competitions as well as a debate on the topic ‘Ethical education can alone build a corruption-free society’. 
 
"The eloquence and clarity of thought of the young participants were noteworthy. The winners of all contests were awarded certificates and cash prizes at the closing ceremony," a SAIL statement said.
 
Rakesh Kumar and Shiv Raj Singh, CVOs of Hindustan Copper Ltd and Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd, respectively, delivered talks at Kolkata and Chennai on how preventive vigilance and administrative methods can be utilised to curb corruption at the workplace.
