Automobile major Renault India, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Renault Group, made a strong start to 2026 with total wholesales reaching 3,715 units in January 2026.

This marks a healthy double-digit growth of 33.6% year-on-year (YoY) compared to 2,780 units sold in January 2025, significantly outgrowing the overall industry growth for the month. The performance was driven by sustained consumer demand following the new launches of Kiger and Triber.

Building on a strong H2 2025, the company continues to see robust consumer sentiment for its newly launched Triber and Kiger. Combined, both the vehicles recorded a strong 45.3% YoY growth in their sales compared to last year.

Commenting on the sales performance, Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Renault India, said, “We have entered 2026 with strong momentum and clear intent, marking a new beginning for Renault India. The Kiger and Triber continue to deliver a solid and consistent performance, while the biggest car reveal of the Indian automotive industry — the return of the iconic Duster — has ignited consumer excitement across the country. We are witnessing a sharp surge in enquiries at all our touchpoints, reinforcing the confidence we have been building since the second half of 2025. The Duster is back, and Renault’s next chapter in India is firmly underway.”

Notably on January 26th, 2026, Renault unveiled new generation Duster with modern design, style and rugged SUV character, marking the first product under Renault International Gameplan 2027 in India. With 90% elements specifically designed for the country, the Made for India Duster is engineered for 5-star safety standards with 14 best / first in segment features including Approach and Departure angle, openR link multimedia system with Google built-in and Boot capacity of 700L (till the roof) to name a few.

The car comes with 3 engine options – Turbo TCe 160 with best in segment 163 PS power and 280 Nm of torque, Turbo TCe 100, and, a strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 powered by 1.8L engine, and 1.4 KWH battery, acknowledged for its best-in-class efficiency.
