Profit soars 39%, but Grasim stock crashes 3% after Q1 results
Mumbai/IBNS: Shares of Grasim Industries fell around 3 per cent on Thursday despite the company reporting a strong turnaround in profitability for the June quarter (Q1 FY27), media reports said.
The stock was trading at around ₹3,234.60 apiece soon after the opening bell.
Consolidated net profit rises 38.8%
For Q1 FY27, Grasim Industries reported a consolidated net profit of ₹3,846.28 crore, marking a 38.8 per cent year-on-year increase from ₹2,770.63 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
The company's revenue from operations rose 21.4 per cent year-on-year to ₹48,716.20 crore.
EBITDA hits record high
Grasim's consolidated EBITDA stood at ₹8,077 crore during the quarter, marking its highest-ever quarterly EBITDA.
Standalone profit turns positive
On a standalone basis, Grasim Industries reported a net profit of ₹247 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with a loss of ₹118 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Despite the improvement in its financial performance, the company's shares remained under pressure in early trade on Thursday.
