Kolkata, July 17 (IBNS): Continuing with its rapid expansion drive, India’s largest branded network of hotels, OYO Rooms on Friday said it will expand its network in Kolkata to 1,500 rooms with over 150 partner properties by the end of 2015.

OYO Rooms started operations in Kolkata in April this year and already offers over 200 rooms in 17 hotels.

OYO has so far partnered with properties spread across Kolkata’s major business and tourist-friendly locations, including Salt Lake, Jadavpur, Park Street, Ballygunge, Alipore and Garia.

In Kolkata, OYO Rooms offers high-quality and standardized rooms at a price point between Rs. 999 and Rs.2,999.

All OYO rooms are equipped with standardized amenities, including comfortable beds, air conditioning, TV, free and unlimited Wi-Fi, a clean and attached washroom and a complimentary breakfast service. The company has recently raised INR 150 crore (USD25 million) in venture capital funding and plans to use these funds to undertake a massive expansion in Kolkata and other cities of India.

Kavikrut, Head of Expansion, OYO Rooms said, “Kolkata is one of the principal commercial, cultural, and educational centres of India and we anticipate a huge demand for high-quality accommodation here. Our launch in Kolkata is a significant milestone for us as we strive to create a niche in the branded hotel segment offering convenience through technology, exactly what the tech-savvy travellers of today understand and expect.”
