Jaipur, Nov 5 (IBNS): Ola, India’s most popular mobile app for personal transportation today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan in presence of state Chief Minster Vasundhara Raje.

As per the MoU, Ola will work with the state Government to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the youth in Rajasthan and to provide skill development for 50,000 men and women across the state over the next five years.

Ola will also work with the state government to introduce innovative and customised mobility solutions across the state like Ola Autos and Ola Share amongst others in the coming months. By bringing more mobility use cases onto its app using technology, Ola is looking to serve the 75 million people in the state, giving them instant access to reliable and convenient personal transportation of their choice.

On signing the MoU, Vasundhara Raje  said, "Our vision is to use technology to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the youth of Rajasthan. We welcome Ola’s commitment to skill development and nurturing entrepreneurship amongst the youth of the state. This initiative will help further expand the ecosystem and make more choice of mobility to the citizens at large. Innovation and technology have to go hand in hand for making Rajasthan the most developed, front-runner state in the country.”

Pranay Jivrajka, Chief Operating Officer at Ola said, “We are proud to partner with the Rajasthan Government. Through this partnership we aim to create more than 50,000 employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the state by investing substantially in skill development of youth and women in particular. We will further improve access to mobility in cities across the state by bringing on-board innovative transportation use cases like Ola Auto, Ola Share and many more to compliment the existing urban transportation system in Rajasthan.”

Ola had initially launched services in Rajasthan in early 2014 and had redefined mobility in the state by being the first ever on-demand cab booking app. Today, Ola has become a household name in Rajasthan and is a key component of the local transportation space with presence across 5 major cities in the state that include Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer and Jodhpur.

Founded in Jan 2011 by IIT Bombay alumni Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati, Ola (formerly Olacabs), is India’s most popular mobile app for personal transportation.
