Nissan India extends helping hand towards COVID-19 support in India

Nissan India has contributed Rs 2.2 crore to the Tamil Nadu State Disaster Relief Fund, Rs 25 lakhs to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Relief Fund and over Rs 4.3 crore for COVID-19 relief equipment.

According to the company, over the last few months and as part of the relief equipment support with the start of the second wave, Nissan India has distributed N-95 masks, PPE kits, oxygen concentrators, portable ECG machines, X-ray machines, pulse oximeters and nasal oxygen machines in Delhi NCR & Chennai.

Additionally, in partnership with the World Community Service Centre, Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Limited (RNAIPL) distributed cooked food packets to migrant workers and the needy during the lockdown period.

Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India said “Safety & well-being of the society, customers, partners and employees is paramount. Towards this, multiple initiatives are being taken with the government authorities and NGOs towards ensuring the same.”

Keeping in mind the challenges of the second wave, Nissan India said it continues to heighten COVID-19 health and safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) in its manufacturing plant, offices and dealerships to curb the spread of the virus.
