Microsoft launches new smartphones, upgradable to Windows 10
The phones were announced earlier in Barcelona Mobile Congress last month.
These phones will be available in the markets across India from Apr 9. Lumia 640 is exclusively available at online market store Flipkart.
The phones have latest Windows 8.1 operating system and those are upgradable to Windows 10 OS which will release in the next year.
Launching the phones here, the director (East) of Microsoft Mobile Devices Kislay Kumar said that Lumia 640 and 640 XL were the perfect devices that were enablers of productivity.
"These phones are packed with Microsoft services and experiences along with the exclusive 12 moths MS Office 365 personal subscription offer worth 3299 INR," he said.
Both Lumia 640 and 640 XL are available in dual sim 3G variants.
Lumia 640 and 640 XL have 8 megapixels and 13 megapixels primary camera respectively with LED flash and both have auto-focus front camera.
The screen sizes of Lumia 640 is 5" and of 640 XL is 5.7" the both phones have HD screen resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels.
Both phones have 1.2 GHz quad core snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 30GB Cloud storage and expendable memory up to 128GB.
The Lumia 640 and 640 XL have 2500mAh and 3000mAh batteries which will provide a long battery life.
The best selling price of Lumia 640 and 640 XL smartphones are 11,999 INR and 15,799 INR respectively.
