Kolkata, June 30 (IBNS): MedPlus, a pharmacy retailers with over 1300 stores spread across 12 states, on Tuesday announced the launch of their innovative e-commerce service 'Click, Pick. Save.' in Kolkata.

The company which currently operates about 106 stores in Kolkata, also projected an aggressive expansion plan of opening another 200 stores in the next 2 years and to achieve 100 percet growth in revenue this year in the region.

‘Click, Pick. Save’, a first of its kind initiative by MedPlus, is a customer-focused online service that enables the customers to harness the benefits of e-commerce and mobile commerce in healthcare like never before.

The consumers can log onto the portal -www.medplusmart.com- or use the MedPlus app to search for over 100,000 medicines and read important facts about their usage, side effects, precautions to be taken and compare among alternative branded and generic medicines along with their prices.

Speaking on the occasion, Madhukar Gangadi, Founder & CEO, MedPlus said, “During the last decade we have witnessed a remarkable transformation in consumer behavior and e-commerce has been the most influential factor driving this change.  Through ‘Click, Pick. Save’, our primary focus is to provide the customers with the convenience of e-commerce in pharmacy backed by quality and trust. The service not only adds to the ease of purchase, but also empowers the customers with important information and choice in health care.” Talking about the expansion plans in the region, he added, “West Bengal is an important market for us and we have plans to open another 200 or more stores within the next couple of years taking our store count in the state to over 300. We want to be the most preferred destination for the customers here for all their medicine needs and create great opportunities  for the local workforce.”

Surendra Mantena, COO, MedPlus Health Services, said: “We have already launched this service in Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to great response. With this launch today, we wish to explore the huge potential for online services in the eastern market. The greatest benefit of the service to our customers has been the removal of uncertainty about the availability of the medicines they need along with access to important information about their usage.” Adding further he said, “Our online service is completely in compliance with the government regulations and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and we do not engage in any direct sale of medicines to customers without a prescription and dispense all medicines from a licensed store upon verification by a registered pharmacist.”
