Mahindra Tractors races to meet exploding demand for 4WD range in West Bengal

| @indiablooms | Dec 03, 2025, at 04:41 pm

Kolkata/IBNS: Mahindra Tractors, India’s No. 1 tractor brand and the world’s largest by volume, is ramping up readiness to meet rising demand for its four-wheel-drive (4WD) tractor range in West Bengal. With farm and haulage activities expected to increase across the state, more farmers are opting for higher power, better traction and improved productivity that Mahindra’s 4WD lineup offers.

The growing use of specialised farm equipment for diverse crops has further accelerated this shift. Mahindra’s 4WD tractors—spanning 20–70 hp—are designed for both small and large farms and perform efficiently across varied soil conditions. The company offers one of the widest 4WD portfolios through its Arjun, Novo, YuvoTech+, Jivo and OJA series.

Engineered in India for local terrain, the tractors feature heavy-duty axles, larger tyres, and higher ground clearance, delivering durability and consistent performance in demanding tasks. With power distributed to all four wheels, the tractors offer superior traction on wet, uneven or hilly terrain, making them ideal for farm and non-farm operations. Their world-class engines deliver fuel efficiency, longer engine life and reduced tyre wear, lowering maintenance costs and downtime.

Mahindra’s 4WD machines also incorporate improved ergonomics, suspension, safety features and operator-friendly controls. Farmers benefit from better handling, quicker headland turns, the ability to manage 2–3 ton loads, reduced fatigue and lower accident risks.

Global trend now in India

Beyond West Bengal, adoption of 4WD technology is rising nationwide, aligned with global farming trends. Government subsidies and increasing awareness are encouraging farmers to upgrade despite higher initial costs. The company says productivity gains, fuel efficiency and long-term durability make 4WD models more cost-effective over time.

Mahindra has expanded its 4WD portfolio significantly over the past decade and continues to scale production across its plants in Nagpur, Mumbai, Zaheerabad, Rudrapur, Rajkot and Jaipur.

A strong after-sales network supports the expansion. With widespread dealerships, accessible service centres and affordable genuine spares, Mahindra ensures minimal downtime for farmers. The company also offers round-the-clock support via its 24x7 toll-free number, 1800 2100 700, with doorstep service available for added convenience.
