Kolkata: Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Pvt Ltd is looking to increase its turnover from Rs 700 crore to Rs 1,000 crore by 2025, the company's top officials have said.

Speaking about the company's future plans in India, Deputy Managing Director Sales Division Kuldeep Malhotra said, "We have big plans in the near future. We are planning to invest money to grow in the Indian market. We are estimating that we should be touching 1000 crore in turnover by 2025. Ours is a 12-year-old company and we have grown from 70 crores to 700 crores."

The company aims to achieve a turnover of Rs 800 crore in 2022. "We are aiming to increase our turnover to Rs 800 crore if we have to achieve Rs 1000 crore by 2025.

The company, which has a presence in Maldives, and Nepal, and has entered Bhutan this month, has more than 50 percent market share in production printing devices in India.

"In the eastern Indian market, we have a good market share in the production printing devices," Malhotra said.

He said Konica Minolta has a market share of 65 to 75 percent in the eastern region.

The company will further strengthen and expand its business in the eastern region. "Currently, we are having our customer base in entire eastern zone-- Kolkata, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, and 7 states of the northeast with a wide network of service and supply chain management," the company said.

"We are making production printing, industrial printing business, and high-speed printing devices which you can call heavy-duty," Malhotra said.

Konica Minolta can set up manufacturing unit in India if the market size in India grows, he said when asked about the company's future investments in India.  Currently, all  Konica Minolta devices are fully imported into India.

Recently, the company opened its Mother warehouse in Kolkata to support our Eastern zone customers. There are three more Mother warehouses owned by the company across the country.

Asked about the impact of the pandemic, Malhotra said the recovery post-Covid-19 has been steady and its business has almost reached the pre-Covid levels.

The company also faced production issues due to semiconductor shortages triggered by prolonged lockdowns in China, he said.

"But lockdowns are still continuing in China but we have streamlined...we are not dependent on China alone as we have a production unit in Indonesia," he added.

"The printing industry has evolved dramatically in recent years by showing a growth of more than 10 percent year-on-year, thereby, creating a path for modern technologies that expedite operations and deliver high-quality prints," the company said in a statement.

On the customer side, the demands are also shifting. Konica Minolta Business Solutions India Private Limited has developed offerings with integrated workflows and accessories to automate printing solutions, thus saving time and meeting the customers' printing requirements, it added.
