Kolkata: Xiaomi unveils Redmi 3S, 3S Prime

Kolkata, Aug 9 (IBNS): Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Monday unveiled two of its new smartphone range- the Redmi 3S and finger-print sensor equipped Redmi 3S Prime in Kolkata.


To add more competition in the sub-Rs. 10,000 segment , the company launched Redmi 3S which is priced at Rs 6,999 and Redmi 3S Prime costs Rs 8,999.

Both the smartphones will be available on Mi.com and the companies’ e-commerce partner Flipkart.

The Redmi 3S Prime will go on sale first, starting August 9. Redmi 3S will go on sale from August 16.

This is for the very first time that both these handsets will be available to the buyers without a flash sale.

“The phones will be available without a flash sale for the first time. As we are no longer dependent on China for supplies, so we will be able to offer much more units for sale in India,” says Manu Jain, India Head, Xiaomi.

Both the phones are dual-SIM smartphones with VoLTE 4G support, all-metal with a 5-inch HD display and pack large 4100mAh battery.

“I am thrilled to be introducing a Redmi device today and once again change the game in the sub-10k smartphone industry in India,” said Hugo Barra, Vice President, Xiaomi,

The Redmi 3S comes loaded with 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via micro-SD card.

The smartphone has 13MP rear camera with PDAF, 5MP front camera.

Redmi 3S Prime which offers more RAM, more storage space, and a fingerprint. The Prime comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

Both the handsets will be available in Dark Grey, Silver, and Gold colour options.
