'Kol Taxi' app launched in Kolkata

Kolkata, Jan 26 (IBNS) To facilitate commuting in Kolkata, Brand Next launched "Kol Taxi", an exclusive app for the yellow taxis, here on Monday.

The app is expected to reduce the daily hassles a commuter faces to avail a taxi in the 'City of Joy'.   

The opening was attended by Bimal Guha, President of Bengal Taxi Association, Anirban Mukherjee, LSU (from London), PK Sandell, Former Chief Technical Advisor, UNIDO and Kaushik Moulik, CEO, Brand Next.

Speaking on the occasion, Kaushik Maulik said that this mobile app will help the riders to search for taxi service right around them atwww.kolkatatoday.com

He further added that the app will enable users with a list of all the taxi drivers available within 2 kilometers, along with their phone numbers and their photographs.

The service has also promised to provide full security to all the passengers, especially, to the the women and children.

Internet is mandatory for both the driver and the rider. They need to download this app in their smart phones and can keep their information saved inside a database.

Sandell said, "This App would lead to tremendous benefit not only to the citizens by creating  more convenience during emergencies but also would enhance healthy benefits to the enterpreneurs. And this process would also contribute to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's mission of 'Digitalised India'.
