Jindal Steel and Power Limited joins Prime Minister's #GiveItUp Call

New Delhi, Apr 10 (IBNS): Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) on Friday announced its commitment to the "Give it Up" call made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister had appealed to Indian citizens, who can afford, to voluntarily let go of the domestic LPG subsidy as their personal contribution towards nation building. Immediately after the appeal made by the Prime Minister, JSPL’s senior management led by its Chairman Naveen Jindal came forward to participate in this unique initiative.

“As a progressive and forward looking organization committed to Build a Nation of our Dreams, we have appealed to all our employees to participate in this first-of-its-kind landmark initiative under leadership of our dynamic Prime Minister. I am glad to see the large scale response coming from our employees who have joined me in giving up domestic LPG subsidy as our personal contribution towards nation building”, Naveen Jindal, Chairman - JSPL said. Shri Naveen Jindal has committed to carry the “Give It Up” call to all stakeholders of JSPL in order to catalyse the achievement target of one crore set by the Government of India.

Jindal Steel and Power made an appeal to it’s over 20,000 employees to come forward and support the cause of nation building under the leadership of our Prime Minister.

JSPL had launched a multi-media internal communications campaign to create awareness and facilitate participation of it’s over 20,000 employees in the “Give It Up” call.

In the coming days, the company plans to extend the outreach to the employment eco-system of 50,000 families that are associated with JSPL, as well as its over 1 lakh shareholders.

Speaking on the initiative, Rajeev Bhadauria, Group Director – JSPL said, “JSPL has consistently participated in progressive causes of national interest and socio-economic development. In line with the tradition of the JSPL Group, we aim to carry the “Give It Up” message to all our stakeholders, and have started an internal campaign to facilitate formation of a common interest group encompassing professional and personal associates who can afford to give up domestic LPG subsidy.”
